TNA Wrestlers ‘Upset’ Following Firing Of President Scott D’Amore TNA Wrestling

A new report has revealed that TNA wrestlers are said to be “upset” following the firing of President Scott D’Amore.

On February 7, TNA Wrestling announced that President Scott D’Amore’s contract had been terminated effective immediately and the company had appointed Anthony Cicione as the new President.

This news came as a big shock to many fans, but it seems that it was also a surprise for many within the company as well.

Per PWInsider, several within TNA Wrestling stated that D’Amore’s firing did not sit well with some of the talent on the roster. One wrestler said, “This wasn’t the way to start” a relationship with talent.

Several stars on the current TNA roster have a strong connection and relationship with Scott D’Amore and most liked working with him. The report notes that the remainder of the creative team for the company remains beyond D’Amore.

Also, talent could not ask questions in regards to the firing, which did not endear some talent to the changes. Meanwhile, some wrestlers were said to be very angry with the news.

The meeting to inform talent about the changes did not allow questions and many talent were very angry upon hearing the news with one TNA personality stating, “Anthem had a lot of work to do moving forward.”

One story making the rounds is that Anthem made the change because they wanted TNA to be more in line with the parent company going forward. Anthem believed the TNA Wrestling brand was “too D’Amore-centric” with Scott acting as the face of the company.

Former TNA Knockouts World Champion and current WWE star Naomi has commented on D’Amore’s firing, which you can read here.

WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Scott D’Amore’s firing from TNA Wrestling when they become available.
