WWE & TNA Wrestling Partnership Long-Term Future Update

TNA President Carlos Silva has provided an update on TNA Wrestling’s partnership with WWE, discussing his plans for the relationship.

With WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling officially announcing a multi-year partnership in January, we’ve seen a lot of crossover between the two properties.

Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Carlos Silva stated that TNA Wrestling is playing the long game, with its crossover focus going beyond short-term plans

Silva said:

“We entered into the partnership to make it bigger than just the way it started. But like everything – you start dating, you go to the movies, you go to dinner – it takes time.

“I think that time and the things we’ve done on both sides has built the relationship and it continues to grow. We’ve had some great buzz over the last couple of weeks with Showdown that’s going to happen on October 7. 

“I think it continues to build, we’re not looking at short-term stuff. We’re playing the long game here, and the long game is being a good partner, understanding where we go and how we build the product for the audience.

Addressing “moaning” from fans about recent crossover appearances, Silva asserted:

“Inside of all of that though, we’re still TNA, and we’ve always been TNA. Look, you can read on socials, there’s moaning, there’s this of course, that’s all part of building the product and building the storylines.

“I think WWE and NXT both understands that TNA is its own property, the same way they understand that AAA is their own property, and that NXT is their own property. 

“So far, so good, we’ll just keep working hard at it.”
