LA Knight Status For Upcoming WWE Special Update

An update has emerged on the status of LA Knight ahead of an upcoming WWE special taking place on the same day as AEW All Out.

September 26 sees televised professional wrestling take over Illinois, with AEW All Out at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates and WWE Worlds Collide at Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

While the card is yet to be confirmed for the upcoming WWE special, one star who is unlikely to be on the show is LA Knight.

The WWE UK Twitter account has confirmed that LA Knight and AJ Styles will be in London, England, on that date, posting:

“WWE Superstar, @RealLAKnight and WWE Hall of Famer, @AJStylesOrg will be at @Zuffa_Boxing 11 in London! 🕶🙌”

Zuffa Boxing was founded in June 2025 and sees TKO Group Holdings hold a 40% stake, while the Saudi Arabian entertainment and hospitality company Sela owns the remaining 60%.

With its most recent event taking place in Dublin, Ireland, Finn Balor and Becky Lynch were in attendance, also announcing that WWE Raw will be heading to the 3Arena in January of next year.

Counterprogramming WWE & AEW

Not for the first time, September 26 will see an AEW and WWE event go head-to-head.

Tony Khan has previously addressed WWE counterprogramming AEW shows, commenting that “it’s done on purpose, and I understand it.”

“On purpose”, it may be, particularly when two shows are now running in the same region of the United States, leading to some fans having to choose which they attend or watch when it airs live.

For all the commentary about the counterprogramming, it isn’t unique to the world of professional wrestling.

Movie fans will recall ‘Barbenheimer’, which saw Barbie and Oppenheimer both hit the big screen on July 21, 2023. An informal competition at the box office, both movies would go on to perform well with their respective audiences, some of whom no doubt saw both.

The double happens again this year, with Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part 3 both coming to the cinema on December 18, dubbed ‘Dunesday’. This time, it’s a comic book and science fiction movie that go head-to-head, with arguably a clearer crossover between those audiences and anticipated hype suggesting another instance of both having box office success.

Whether it be movies, video games or music, occasionally companies shift dates to avoid a clash with a potential draw. It’d be bold for any video game to release on the same date as Grand Theft Auto VI, in the same way dates shifted to avoid a clash with Call of Duty in the past. Something being announced first doesn’t necessarily mean that date is kept, particularly when one of the “big boys” decides to drop on the same day.

Whether AEW All Out and WWE Worlds Collide would have a crossover audience is something that will likely be debated in other arenas. Being a “fan of wrestling” doesn’t mean that an individual has to have an all-encompassing approach to their fandom, in the same way that being a “music/movie/book fan” doesn’t mean a love of everything.

Fans will hopefully choose the entertainment that fits their love the best, whether that may be on any given day.
