Top AEW Star Returns On Dynamite

A top AEW star made their return on tonight’s Dynamite show, taking aim at a championship ahead of All In London.

The finals of the 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament took place back at Forbidden Door, when Will Ospreay defeated Swerve Strickland in the men’s final to earn an AEW World Championship shot at All In London.

Following the match, Swerve had been suspiciously absent from AEW television, which led to speculation on what, if anything, he would be doing at AEW All In later this month.

Well, the mystery about Swerve’s whereabouts and future were answered on tonight’s AEW Dynamite show.

Swerve Strickland Returns On AEW Dynamite

Last week at AEW Grand Slam Mexico, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Brodido captured the AEW World Trios Championship from The Demand a week after Ricochet and the Gates of Agony had won the titles.

On tonight’s show, Hangman and Brodido came to the ring to address their victory, before they were interrupted by Swerve Strickland in his return to AEW television.

Swerve would go over his history with all three men, but specifically Hangman, teasing that issues between them are far from over.

Ricochet and the Demand would also come to the ring, with them seemingly set to get another shot at the Trios Championship.

Who Will Be Swerve Strickland’s Partners At AEW All In?

With Swerve taking issues with the AEW Trios Champions, we are seemingly now on the path towards Swerve and two partners of his choice challenging Hangman and Brodido for the Trios Championship at All In London.

Coming out of the segment, the first thought that came to fans’ minds was that this would be the spot that AEW chooses to debut Austin Creed and Kofi of the New Day, who are now officially free agents following their 90 day non-compete clause expiring.

It has been reported that, while the New Day have not yet officially signed with AEW, they are indeed expected to arrive in the company soon, potentially in time for the biggest show of the year.

Swerve Strickland is not a man with a lot of allies on the AEW roster given his actions over the past few years, so he will almost certainly need to look outside the current roster to find some allies.
