With this victory, Ospreay now moves on to Wembley Stadium where he will challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at All In London 2026 on Sunday, August 30.

Meanwhile, many fans were wondering what was going to be next for Swerve Strickland.

The former AEW World Champion has had a rather strange 2026 where he has been featured as a top star whenever he appears, but his appearances has become sporadic throughout the past few months.

Starting out the year, Strickland was a babyface and looking to get another opportunity at the AEW World Title.

This led to an intense rivalry with Kenny Omega and Swerve turning heel in the process.

From there, Strickland had a short feud with Brody King that culminated at AEW Revolution 2026 and then lost to Omega in a #1 Contender’s rematch.

After losing the number one contendership and an opportunity to be EVP, Strickland was off television for six weeks unexplained.

On social media, Swerve stoked the flames of controversy by teasing that veterans and management were holding him back.

Strickland then returned ahead of AEW Double Or Nothing where he kicked off the Owen Hart Cup with a win against Bandido in the quarterfinals.

While he was a focal point heading into Forbidden Door, Swerve has not appeared once since his loss to Ospreay on June 28.

What could Swerve do at AEW All In London 2026?

There is no doubt that Swerve Strickland is one of AEW’s biggest stars and should always be among the most featured talent on the roster.

It has been a weird year for the self-proclaimed “Most Dangerous Man in AEW” with this latest absence being even more baffling considering the company is mere weeks away from All In London 2026.

With the all-important Wembley Stadium event fast approaching, the company should put a spotlight back on Strickland with a meaningful bout on the card.

Looking at what is currently announced, there seems to be a simple solution for Strickland right now: the Men’s Casino Gauntlet.

AEW’s signature match makes its return to the All In card for the third year in a row with a shot at the AEW World Title on the line.

Considering the likes of MJF, Speedball Mike Bailey, Tommaso Ciampa and Andrade El Idolo have all threw their name in the hat for the unpredictably randomized interval bout, Swerve could be yet another huge star to compete in this contest.

Pitting two former AEW World Champions against one another at All In London 2026 adds to the star power on the entire card in a major way.

While this would be intriguing, Swerve has the potential to rekindle his rivalry with “Hangman” Adam Page, start a new feud with Speedball Mike Bailey or go after a title like Kyle Fletcher‘s AEW International Title at All In if he wanted to.

Regardless of what direction the promotion goes, Swerve’s return could be one of the most compelling stories heading into AEW All In London 2026.
