Former WWE Star’s New Ring Name Revealed, Set For Upcoming Major Tournament

A former WWE star’s new ring name has been revealed after they were announced as a participant in a major upcoming tournament.

Back in April 2026, over 20 names were released from their WWE contracts across the main roster and NXT, which included NXT’s Dante Chen, who had been with WWE since 2021.

Dante Chen was sporadically featured on NXT television as an enhancement talent, though he quickly became known as the ‘gatekeeper’ of NXT Level Up during the show’s run due to his frequent appearances on the show.

Following his WWE release, Chen has only competed in one match, wrestling for CCW in July under the ring name Trexxus.

However, it seems a bigger spotlight will shine on Chen soon, as he has now been announced for his debut in Pro Wrestling NOAH as part of this year’s N-1 Victory Tournament.

Chen, under his new ring name ‘The Southeast Asian Standout’ CHEN, will be part of the tournament’s A Block, facing off against several NOAH’s top names, including Kaito Kiyomiya and former WWE NXT stars Yoshiki Inamura and Shane Haste.

Taking to social media, CHEN commented on representing his home nation of Singapore in NOAH for the first time as part of the tournament.

He said:

For the first time, Singapore will be represented in Pro Wrestling NOAH’s N1 Victory Tournament, as I will be the one to help do so as history is made once again. #CHENUP #noah_ghc

WWE had previously sent some of it’s NXT stars to work as part of the N-1 Victory tournament, with Tavion Heights, Josh Briggs, Charlie Dempsey and Harlem Lewis all competing in the past two year’s version of the tournament.

In recent years, the WWE Performance Center has proven to have a pretty good track record when it comes to creating future top stars, with Oba Femi, Bron Breakker, Bianca Belair, Tiffany Stratton and Sol Ruca just a handful of names that have been created from the ground up in WWE’s system.

However, while talents may end up becoming great within the WWE system, there are many little things that wrestlers will learn better working with wrestlers outside the company and in front of fans of different companies.

Tavion Heights has previously praised his time in NOAH specifically as incredibly beneficial to his wrestling career, with him now reigning as NXT Tag Team Champion.
