WWE Talent Officially Moving To AAA

A WWE talent is officially moving to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, with Shawn Michaels announcing that the star will now wrestle for the Mexican brand.

Following Drake Morreaux’s debut in Mexico, another notable Performance Center name is now on their way to Mexico to join AAA.

The son of legendary boxer Evander Holyfield, Elijah Holyfield has been a mainstay of WWE LFG, appearing as a contestant on all three seasons of the show.

Holyfield is now set to start a new chapter in his career, with Shawn Michaels informing him on the latest episode of WWE LFG that an opportunity had arisen for him in AAA.

Noting that this is an opportunity to “get you into the game”, Shawn Michaels said:

“I think, coming in the door, you were a very valued prospect to us. I’m sure, maybe from your perspective, it has been a while.

“Maybe you’ve had some setbacks with the injury, but an opportunity has arose for for us to get you into the game. You are going to have the opportunity to go down to AAA and show the world who Elijah Holyfield truly is.

“You will be meeting up with your old trainer, the Undertaker. The possibilities down there are going to be unlimited for you. Congratulations, and thank you very much for always giving it your best.”

The Undertaker was Holyfield’s mentor for season one of WWE LFG. He currently works for AAA in a role he recently described as “in layman’s terms, head of creative”.

Elijah Holyfield won’t be the first star to have gone down the WWE LFG – AAA pipeline, with Drake Morreaux informed on the May 3 LFG episode that an opportunity had also emerged for him in AAA.

He made his AAA debut with a new character during July’s Verano De Escandalo tapings, attacking Psycho Clown in a segment which aired on the August 8 AAA episode.

Between Evolve, AAA and LFG, there are now numerous avenues for WWE prospects to cut their teeth before reaching NXT TV, let alone the main roster.

Allowing Elijah Holyfield to gain more experience in Mexico sounds like a great idea for his long-term development, with WWE even going as far as telling him that they view the rising star as a “valued prospect”.
