Mercedes Mone Reacts To Fan Shouting ‘Sasha, Come Home’ At AEW Dynamite

Mercedes Mone has reacted to a fan shouting “Sasha, come home” during her segment on last night’s AEW Dynamite.

Building towards their upcoming match at AEW: All In London, Mercedes Mone attacked Willow Nightingale in an interview segment on the August 12 episode of Dynamite.

During the attack, a fan can be heard shouting “Sasha, come home” and “Sasha, we love you”, with Mone largely ignoring what was being said and focusing on Nightingale.

While she may have ignored it for television, the star known to WWE fans as Sasha Banks would take to Twitter would response of her own, tweeting:

“They always send feds to watch our show! 😭🤑”

Signing with WWE in August 2012, Sasha Banks would be a regular fixture on programming until her departure in May 2022, walking out on the company alongside her then Women’s Tag Team Champion partner, Naomi.

While Naomi would return to WWE in early 2024, Banks would go on to sign with AEW in early 2024, having undertaken a tour of NJPW and Stardom.

Where Is Home?

Where is home for the former Sasha Banks? It should be pretty obvious that, as much as a WWE return would be an interesting move for the star, it’s All Elite Wrestling.

In late 2024, it was reported that Mone’s AEW contract “likely makes her the top paid female performer in the history of wrestling”, with sources noting that her decision not to make a WWE return was based on the “stronger potential” she was being offered when it comes to outside projects and the future of women’s wrestling.

Just three years after her cameo appearance at AEW All In back in 2023, Mone hasn’t seen her tenure include a hiatus that saw her hold multiple championships across the independent wrestling scene, something that shone a light on many unsigned stars. It was something that was very much unlikely to happen had she returned to WWE.

To date, Mone has only held the TBS Championship in AEW, suggesting that titles are far from the major consideration for creative when it comes to a top star on the women’s roster. That could all change at AEW: All In London on August 30 when she faces Willow Nightingale for the Women’s World Championship.

Mercedes Mone has made her home, and that’s in AEW. It doesn’t rule out the possibility of a return to WWE somewhere down the line, but that’s obviously not a consideration for a star who continues to perform at a high level under Tony Khan’s leadership.
