Scrapped Plans For Big WWE PLE Match Revealed

Scrapped Plans For Big WWE PLE Match Revealed WWE

WWE star Shayna Baszler has explained how she was limited with her match against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam 2023, revealing some of the plans that were scrapped.

With Rousey recently indicating that she’s not interested in returning to WWE, it looks like her MMA Rules match against Baszler will remain her final ever WWE match.

Shayna Baszler notably defeated Rousey in a bout inspired by both stars’ MMA backgrounds. While the idea for the match was innovative, many fans criticised the bout after it took place.

Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Baszler noted that because of the set-up at the Ford Field stadium, they couldn’t do a Steel Cage of Fight Pit match.

Noting that they tried things that ultimately didn’t work out, Baszler said:

“I won’t lie, the idea we had, we were a little bit handcuffed just based on the venue.

“There was no tron, so we knew the people in-house were going to have trouble maybe understanding some of the stuff because you need a camera and a close up of that.

“We couldn’t get a cage or a fight pit in there because of the rigging in a dome situation is totally different. There was a lot. We tried to work out some other things, it just didn’t work out.

“We did the best we could with what we had. I’m proud of it.”

Ronda Rousey has now blasted WWE in a recent interview, revealing her issues with the likes of John Laurinaitis, Bruce Prichard and Vince McMahon.
