NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 comes from the Tokyo Dome on January 4 2023 with current WWE and AEW stars featured in high-profile matches.
AEW is represented by IWGP Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) who will take on Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi) and Kenny Omega facing Will Ospreay for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.
WWE is represented by Karl Anderson (and Luke Gallows) who will defend the NEVER Openweight Championship against Tama Tonga (with Jado).
Shinsuke Nakamura has addressed his status for the NJPW showcase having just taken part in a well-received match at Pro-Wrestling NOAH against The Great Muta.
At the Pro-Wrestling NOAH press conference, Keiji Muto (The Great Muta) asked Shinsuke Nakamura if he would be in attendance at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
Muto: “By the way, everyone is wondering, are you going to New Japan at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th?”
Nakamura: “There are no plans to do so.”
Muto: “There no?”
Nakamura: “I haven’t heard anything, unfortunately (laughs).”
