WWE Seemingly Splitting Up Tag Team Soon

WWE Seemingly Splitting Up Tag Team Soon WWE

There is further evidence that a WWE tag team could be set for a split in the near-future following this week’s edition of NXT (December 12).

Following a backstage altercation at NXT Deadline (December 9), Meta-Four’s Noam Dar, Oro Mensah & Lash Legend took on Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen & Fallon Henley in trios action on NXT TV last night.

After impressing at Deadline during the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, Briggs once again showed that he may be set for a breakout singles run by pinning the current NXT Heritage Cup Champion Dar in the match’s closing stages.

In a backstage segment following the win Briggs seemingly confirmed that Dar’s championship was in his path next, however, this was not a sentiment shared by Jensen.

Jensen said that the Heritage Cup was not Briggs’ “style”, due to its typical focus on technical wrestling prowess, rather than the smash-mouth style that Briggs is known for.

Briggs pushed back at Jensen’s opinion by saying that the Iron Survivor Challenge also wasn’t his “style” but he pulled out a great performance.

Eventually Jensen conceded to Briggs’ goals and agreed that he would be in support of his partner in them.

This rift is yet another piece of mounting evidence that WWE could be set to split Briggs and Jensen up potentially soon, with Jensen seemingly not totally on board with Briggs’ recent ambition in singles competition.

While the tension builds between Briggs and Jensen, there had also been signs of a falling out between Briggs and Henley a few weeks back, when the 6-foot-8 star was spotted chatting briefly to Henley’s rival Tiffany Stratton.

Even further, a few weeks ago, Brooks Jensen featured in a dark match that saw the entrance go viral after he used “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” by Journey as his entrance music.

While this didn’t make it on to TV, Briggs did in fact receive a brand new solo entrance theme at NXT Deadline, once again suggesting that WWE have grander plans for him as a solo act.

It’s also worth noting that Briggs and Jensen have recently been competing as singles acts on the NXT live event circuit.

In fact, prior to this week’s NXT, the last time Brooks and Jensen tagged together was back in October.
