A recently returning WWE star has provided an emotional update on her condition following a near four month absence from TV.
This week’s Raw from Anaheim, CA (February 19) saw the return of former three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez – almost four months since her last TV match on November 20.
Rodriguez’s return was met by jubilation inside the Honda Center, with the 33-year-old winning an over the top battle royal to book the sixth and final spot in the women’s Elimination Chamber match.
Several months ago Rodriguez posted a statement to social media confirming the reason for her absence from WWE, revealing that she had been diagnosed with of mast cell activation syndrome.
However, now that Rodriquez is back on TV, the Raw star has provided an update on her current health and status of her condition.
Posting to Twitter, Rodriguez uploaded a video collating several images of how her condition had progressed in her absence – along with an emotional message of love to her family and friends for the support.
Rodriguez wrote:
The journey is far from over. I finally got some answers as to what caused this but it’s going to be a while til I can get it fully under control.
I know one thing. I’m blessed to have an amazing support system. Family, friends, I love you all
Keep pushing through the pain!
Rodriguez joins Liv Morgan, Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch in the women’s Elimination Chamber this Saturday, February 24.
The winner of the match will then face either Rhea Ripley or Nia Jax for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.
