To end tonight’s WWE NXT, several big matches were set up for the coming weeks that may have 2024 WWE Draft implications.
Trick Williams received a jubilant reception from the NXT crowd after his win over Carmelo Hayes at Stand & Deliver, however still has his eyes on a bigger prize.
Calling out Ilja Dragunov it seemed that there was pause from the NXT Champion about giving Trick another shot, however he would go on to reveal that in two weeks he was willing to face Williams, with a stipulation – if Trick loses, he has to “leave NXT forever”.
This, of course, could be a way to call Williams up to the main roster.
It was then that Carmelo Hayes appeared, attacking Trick Williams from behind as he declared that he also had his sights still on Trick.
Next week on NXT, Carmelo Hayes will take on Trick Williams in a steel cage match.
Then, in two weeks at the first week of the special event NXT Spring Breakin’ on April 23, Trick Williams will challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship.
Elsewhere, Ilja Dragunov featured on the WWE Raw after WrestleMania where he had a match against and beat Shinsuke Nakamura.
During Raw, Michael Cole announced that Dragunov was entering the 2024 WWE Draft, set to begin on April 26 on SmackDown and continue on April 29 on Raw.
