A WWE star has taken to Twitter to praise a former WWE name who was released today after recently being replaced.
It had been reported on Monday that Kevin Patrick was set to be replaced as the lead announcer on WWE SmackDown, with Michael Cole set to sub in for him on this week’s broadcast.
Today, it was confirmed that Kevin Patrick had been released from the company amid the upcoming change to the broadcast team on this week’s SmackDown.
Taking to Twitter following the news, WWE star Sheamus heaped praise on his fellow Irishman, wishing him luck in the future following his departure.
He said:
Such a privilege to have worked with Kevin Patrick, a true professional and a true Irish man. I hope to see more great things from this fella in the future.. may the road rise to meet ya @kev_egan! Slainte
Sheamus has been out of action with a shoulder injury in recent months, with him not appearing on the show since he faced off against Edge back in August in Edge’s final match in WWE.
