There appears to be a buildup of evidence to suggest that a former WWE star could be on his way to returning to the company.
Yesterday, we covered the news that an indie promotion had announced that an ex-WWE star had been pulled from their show due to “new contractual obligations”.
That star is of course Erick Rowan, and while there’s still no full confirmation on what his “new contractual obligations” are, there is more new information that suggests a WWE comeback could be on its way.
As reported by PWInsider Elite (via WrestleLamia), Rowan was spotted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this past week.
Pittsburgh is where WWE holds its medial testing procedures, meaning it’s possible that’s why Rowan was there.
With the return of Bo Dallas / Uncle Howdy now being teased multiple times during WWE shows, now would seem like a convenient time to bring Rowan back in the fold and be involved with whatever those plans are.
Rowan was released by WWE in April 2020, and has since made a couple of appearances for AEW as Erick Redbeard including honoring Brodie Lee, as well as being at the Bray Wyatt memorial episode of WWE SmackDown last year.
We’ll continue to keep you posted with any further updates on his status.
