A WWE star returned to action for his first match in four months at an untelevised live event last night, May 16.
While WWE SmackDown took place in Greensboro, North Carolina, NXT held a live event at Lakeland Armory in Lakeland, Florida.
The main event of the NXT show saw the in-ring return of Dante Chen in what was his first match since January 14.
His last match was on NXT TV against Ethan Page, after which Page attacked him and essentially wrote him off TV.
During the four months after that until last night, Chen had not been on TV, nor had he wrestled at any untelevised shows either.
That changed in last night’s main event as he challenged Oba Femi for the NXT Championship, which of course saw Femi retain.
In another interesting note from the Lakeland NXT show, former Lucha House Party member Lince Dorado was in action in the opener against Anthony Luke.
Dorado returned to WWE earlier this year in a wrestler/trainer role, and has already had live event matches against the likes of Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin.
