WWE Star Shouts Out Naomi Ahead Of Expected Return WWE

An NXT star has given a shout out to Naomi (aka Trinity in TNA Wrestling) ahead of her expected return to WWE.

During the main event of this week’s NXT broadcast (January 16), Kelani Jordan stole the show with a spot reminiscent of current and former WWE stars: Kofi Kingston and Naomi.

During a battle royal to determine the number one contender to Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Championship, Jordan performed an unlikely escape from elimination.

After seeming certain to be gone after being knocked out of the ring by Lash legend, Jordan instead landed on an unknowing Jaida Parker, who steered her to the commentary booth, rather than the floor.

Then, in a moment which commentary acknowledged called back to former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston’s traditional Royal Rumble escapades: Jordan balanced on the barricade and finally leapt to the ring steps and re-entered the match.

While Kingston was mentioned, Jordan herself would also make sure to give a shout out to Naomi; who also was known to perform similar stunts during women’s Rumble matches.

Posting a clip of the spot to Twitter, Jordan said:

You know I’ve been studying the greats #KofiKingston #Naomi #KelaniJordan

Unfortunately for Jordan, despite the daring escape from elimination she would ultimately lose the match to Roxanne Perez; who earned a shot at Valkyria at her expense.

It’s been widely reported that Naomi could be nearing towards a WWE return once she finishes up her remaining dates with TNA Wrestling; where she recently reigned as the company’s Knockouts Champion.

There is looking to be a real chance we could see that return happen at the Rumble itself, so perhaps Jordan will get some fresh inspiration for future homages come January 27.
