The new name for a WWE talent has officially been revealed after the name was filed to be trademarked a few days ago.
Earlier this month, WWE filed trademarks for the names Cutler James, Jasper Troy, Layla Diggs and Shiloh Hill, likely all for soon-to-debut NXT talents from the Performance Center.
We now know who the name Cutler James is going to – NXT’s Jonah Niesenbaum, a former Division 1 wrestler from Duke University.
While Niesenbaum already has a hearty following on social media (boasting over 28k followers on Instagram), he’ll now be going under the new moniker in WWE.
He revealed the name change to fans via Twitter, sharing:
“Hey neighbor. Cutler James is on @NXTLevelUp tomorrow night”
James is set to take on Josh Briggs on NXT Level Up that will air on Friday, May 10th on Peacock at 10pm EST/8pm PST, immediately after WWE SmackDown.
Elsewhere in WWE Next Gen alumni news, another standout from the series made an appearance on NXT this week on the USA Network.
However, it wasn’t in a match, but rather in a backstage segment as Karmen Petrovic roundhouse kicked newcomer Sexy BJ Ray in the face.
Ray is also reportedly set for an NXT debut this week at a house show in Lakeland, Florida.
We’ll keep you posted with any updates on who the other new names mentioned earlier end up being allocated to.
