Dave Meltzer previously reported that WWE is planning on bringing Rhea Ripley up to the main roster from NXT, but company higher-ups were unsure about what brand to put the former NXT Women’s Champion on.
This has been corroborated by Ringside News, who are reporting that Rhea Ripley has been brought up in creative team meetings over the last few weeks, but her name has been discussed when speaking about potential stories for both brands.
The site, who have actually had a pretty good track record of backstage scoops over recent months, are reporting that Ripley’s name has been discussed for both Raw and SmackDown stories in recent weeks:
Ringside News has leaned that Rhea Ripley’s name has come up in creative meetings, but not just for one brand. The company has discussed her on both the Raw and SmackDown side. As of this writing, they have no definite plan for her.
This is almost certainly the reason why Ripley hasn’t appeared on any show since the Royal Rumble. WWE will likely not debut her on either brand until they are 100% certain about which brand they want her to become a permanent fixture on.
