A WWE star would be returning from injury on the Monday, May 29 episode of WWE Raw according to a recent report.

Last seen in September 2022, Tommaso Ciampa hasn’t wrestled since his WWE United States Championship match at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show in California.

In March 2023, he would share the news on Instagram that he had his final stem cell treatment having undergone hip surgery in October 2022.

It now looks like Ciampa’s road to recovery is close to being complete, with Fightful Select reporting that Ciampa is in Albany for this evening’s episode of WWE Raw.

Fightful Select would note that hip surgery was to treat “an injury that bothered him since his NXT days.”

On the May 8 episode of WWE Raw, a backstage reunion of The Way (Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell) had led Gargano to say:

“Guys look at us! The whole family back together again. And like I was saying, he’s coming back soon, and I think it’s gonna be great.”

This was interpreted to be a cryptic reference to Ciampa’s WWE return and Gargano reuniting his with DIY tag team partner.

To clarify, Fightful didn’t necessarily report that a DIY reunion was planned for tonight, but if Ciampa’s there, perhaps it’s a possibility that it’ll least be happening sometime soon.
