WWE Files To Trademark Two Ring Names WWE

WWE has now filed two new applications to trademark two ring names with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).

Per the USPTO, on Monday (January 22), WWE filed applications to trademark the terms ‘ANGEL GARZA’ and ‘LUCIEN PRICE’.

The applications indicate that WWE intends to use these names within the category of ‘entertainment services’.

The following description accompanied both filings:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network;

providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members;

providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

Lucien Price currently wrestles for the NXT brand. His most recent TV match saw him and Bronco Nima unsuccessfully challenge for Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo & Tony D’Angelo’s NXT Tag Team Championship on the January 9 episode.

Angel Garza notably competes in SmackDown, but WWE recently officially changed his name back to ‘Angel’ recently.

The Mexican star is referred to just as ‘Angel’ on WWE TV, and his WWE.com profile also lists him without his last name.
