Former WWE star Victoria has revealed that Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch got in touch about their match at Payback.
Taking place on September 2, WWE Payback opened with Lynch defeating Trish Stratus in a steel cage match.
Speaking about her interactions with both, Lisa Marie Varon, who wrestled as Victoria in WWE, revealed that both Stratus and Lynch had been in touch over the match itself.
On the GAW TV podcast featuring Stratus, Varon revealed:
“It was really cool though you guys that she (Trish Stratus) called me like a couple weeks before and to ask if she could do the Widow’s Peak which a lot of people don’t really do that anymore and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Please. Do it, do it, do it.’
“The only thing I have is she kicked out of it dammit.
“And Becky Lynch actually DM’d me and she goes, ‘Thank you so much for being part of our match.’
For those who want a refresher on the move, there’s a WWE compilation video below this news story.
In 2021, Varon discussed the finishing move with Fightful revealing that Molly Holly had seen it being done by a young Roderick Strong at an independent show.
In the Fightful interview, she would also reveal that she met Roderick Strong in a hotel lobby when he was in his late teens and he thanked her for putting him on the map by adopting his move.
