WWE WrestleMania 40 Match Officially Added To Card

After a challenge was officially laid out on WWE TV, we now have confirmation that a match will take place at WrestleMania 40.

On this week’s SmackDown (March 29), the LWO’s Rey Mysterio laid out the challenge to both his son Dominik and former protege Santos Escobar for a tag team match at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

The challenge was accepted by Escobar and Dom, leading to Rey revealing his tag team partner to be none other than Dragon Lee, who was also officially unveiled to be the newest member of the LWO.

While it was assumed that the match would be happening at WrestleMania following the segment, WWE have now confirmed that this is in fact the case courtesy of the SmackDown LowDown, which featured Kayla Braxton conducting a backstage interview with Rey and Dragon Lee.

This brings the total number of announced matches to 12 at this point in time, with just one week to go until the two-night extravaganza kicks off.

While there are still some matches that could be made for WrestleMania, WWE’s announcement of the 2024 Andre The Giant Battle Royal has sealed a large chunk of the WWE rosters’ fate for the weekend’s proceedings.
