Zoey Stark has taken to social media to confirm her brand new ring name following her WWE release on April 24.

On April 24, WWE began their latest slate of talent roster cuts, with 30 names being let go in total since then.

Among the list of releases was Zoey Stark, who had spent the past year on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury during a WWE Raw three-way with Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane on May 19, 2025.

With the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion now cleared to return to action, Stark revealed her brand new ring name she’s set to use when her 90-day non-compete clause expires on July 24, 2026.

At the end of an over three minute video posted to Twitter, in which she reflects on her journey over the past year, Stark confirmed that her new ring name will be “The Purist” Zoey Serrano.

In the video, Stark addressed the “fresh start” lying ahead of her outside of WWE:

“Wrestling was my escape. The number one thing in my life. The good thing is now is that I get to show that, I get to express that in my own way. So I’m so happy that you guys get to be on this journey.

“To me this is just the beginning, this is a fresh start. This ring, right here, this is my home. This is where I live, this is what I love to do.

“When I was a kid this was my escape. Any type of hardship, put on wrestling and I could escape from the world and just be in that ring with whoever I wanted. I made it come true.

“So if I’m good now, imagine what it’ll be like when my 90 days are over.”

The video shows Stark training with current AEW star Brian Cage, someone who also recently returned from a lengthy injury absence which saw him miss almost a year of in-ring competition.

Stark’s name change is not only a switch up from her WWE moniker, but also from who she became known as before she arrived in the company in 2021.

Prior to signing with WWE, Starks used the name Lacey Ryan and competed in notable promotions such as NWA and TNA Wrestling.

Zoey Serrano is a blending of the first name she used in WWE and her real-life last name.

Stark is not the only released WWE star to embrace an entirely new name after their departure, as former Wyatt Sicks member Joe Gacy has rebranded himself as Joseph Sawyer ahead of his own free agency on July 24.
