Velveteen Dream to wrestle in EVOLVE
WWE have announced that top NXT wrestler the Velveteen Dream will be working two dates for independent promotion EVOLVE next weekend.
Dream will face Austin Theory at EVOLVE 112 on Friday 7th and then wrestle Darby Allin at EVOLVE 113 in New York the following night.
NXT’s inter-promotional relationship with EVOLVE is nothing new, as Adam Cole defended the NXT North American Championship against Walter at the promotion back in June. Hey EVOLVE, maybe you could take Roman Reigns too? … please
Roman Reigns Forever
Justin Barasso of Sports Illustrated is reporting that WWE “is looking to build a lengthy title reign for Reigns” and that it’s “highly unlikely” Braun Strowman will win the title in their match at next month’s Hell in a Cell.
If that is the case, it will be the second year in a row that the male Money in the Bank briefcase holder has failed to cash in and win the title, following Baron Corbin’s calamitous loss last August.
After defeating Strowman, Barasso notes that Roman’s next Universal Championship challenger will likely be Drew McIntyre, as he’s a “realistic opponent that can also deliver compelling matches.”
So we can look forward to Reigns beating Strowman! Reigns beating McIntyre! And Reigns probably beating Owens whenever he returns! It’s going to be a long Roman Reigns . . .
