WWE Smackdown Live – Sep 4 2018 Video Review

R-Truth In The Main Event

Earlier in the night, Miz & Maryse came into Paige’s office to reveal they left their meal early and wanted to challenge Bryan and Brie again – knowing full well they’d left the building. Paige then told Miz he would have a match tonight with anyone who wanted to face him. Which led to a hilarious series of skits that paid off R-Truth’s search for Carmella. He first approached Maryse and confused her for Carmella, setting up a match tonight with him and The Miz. He then eventually found Mella – only to ask her if she’d seen Carmella anywhere. He then told The Princess of Staten Island that Maryse had been talking trash about her, and asked her to be in his corner for his match against Miz. When Tye Dillinger asked what Truth was doing, he revealed this was his plan all along – to get into the main event of Smackdown Live.

R-Truth def. The Miz

And what a main event it was! Although the crowd chanted for CM Punk early on, they did get into Truth’s nearfalls by the end, and popped massively when he pinned Miz off a distraction by Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella. I really hope we’re now getting Truth, Mella and Tye as a faction. Bryan and Bella then attacked Miz & Maryse who were saved by Almas and Vega from out of nowhere. Bryan and Brie then locked them in the Yes Locks while Miz and Maryse looked on scared.

This was a really fun edition of Smackdown Live. It wasn’t ground-breaking or anything like that, but the wrestling was solid, the build for Hell in a Cell was great, and R-Truth’s comedy skits were genuinely funny. And to top it all off, Stone Cold Becky Lynch is absolutely awesome in this bad ass role. This week’s Smackdown Live is SmackTastic.
