WWE’s Money in the Bank has a full slate of matches already on the card for next week’s event. However, more matches could be added soon.
PWInsider is reporting that Sin Cara versus Andrade “Cien” Almas could be added. Two weeks ago on the May 29th edition of SmackDown Live, Almas and Sin Cara had a backstage encounter. Almas’ manager, Zelina Vega, interrupted the reunion of the two luchadors.
Just last week, “Cien” attacked the high flying superstar during a backstage interview. Vega interrupted Sin Cara stating she was “the best thing that ever happened to him.” She then went on to inform him that General Manager, Paige, had granted a match between the two men next week on SmackDown Live.
One might expect next Tuesday’s match to end in some controversy and set up the match at the pay-per-view.
If this match were given a solid amount of time on the card, it could be a highly entertaining match. Sin Cara and Almas have proven during their times in NXT to be able to produce quality matches.
Almas vs. Johnny Gargano is considered to be a candidate for match of the year. Sin Cara and Kalisto formed the Lucha Dragons. The former NXT Tag Team routinely put on solid matches during their time in developmental.
Given the stacked card already, it might be too much to expect WWE to give these two men the time needed to produce a show stealer. This match may wind up on the pre-show. Andrade “Cien” Almas is coming off a really hot run in NXT. Is WWE wasting the former NXT Champion by having him in a feud with Sin Cara? Would being on the pre-show be a bad sign for Almas?
