Fresh off hitting a landmark 500 days as WWE United Kingdom Champion, things have taken a negative turn for Pete Dunne.
The Brit has been forced to pull out of a Destiny Wrestling tour this weekend due to injury. He has been replaced by Low Ki. Dunne’s British Strong Style teammates Tyler Bate and Trent Seven will still appear on the tour.
Destiny Wrestling released the news via Twitter:
NEWS Due to circumstances beyond our control
Pete Dunne will not be able to make it to Canada this weekend. We apologize to everyone for any inconvenience but the show must go on and we are happy to announce that Tyler Bate & Trent Seven will still be coming to represent BSS 👌 pic.twitter.com/62jdcJOgA4— Destiny Wrestling (@DestinyWrestle) October 4, 2018
A recurring problem
This is the second time that Dunne has pulled out of a show due to injury this week.
Although he wrestled against Ilja Dragunov at PROGRESS supercard Hello Wembley on Sunday, Dunne was forced to withdraw from the Fight Club Pro Project Mayhem weekender in the days prior due to a foot injury.
It is unknown what the severity of Dunne’s injury, how it happened, or how much WWE action he will miss – if any. He may simply be taking it easy for a few days as to not aggravate the problem.
Dunne is expected to headline NXT TakeOver: WarGames alongside Ricochet and War Raiders against Undisputed Era in the show’s titular match, so hopefully it is nothing serious.
It is expected that WWE will release a statement about Dunne’s injury shortly.
