The saga surrounding Cody Rhodes and his future in pro wrestling continues to twist and turn with the ‘American Nightmare’ confirming that he won’t be attending the biggest show in ROH history.
Earlier this week Cody indicated that he was transitioning to a new role in professional wrestling. In a post, the ‘American Nightmare’ thanked ROH and the NWA and mentioned that he was working his remaining dates.
Many assumed that Rhodes would be in attendance at ROH and NJPW‘s joint MSG show on April 6th. However, when SiriusXM tweeted about a match Rhodes commented, explicitly stating that he wouldn’t be taking part in the show:
No
I am not on that show https://t.co/9MirtL69VS

Cody has been in the news a few times recently, distancing himself from the Bullet Club and dropping the NWA title back to Nick Aldis. This, combined with the Instagram message thanking the fans and hoping that they remain loyal to the NWA, doesn’t bode well for the legions of ‘American Nightmare’ supporters.
Rumours continue to swirl that Cody will be returning to WWE when his current contract expires, with the promotion needing new top stars more than ever due to a recent spate of injuries.
With what may be limited time remaining to see him in the ring on the indy circuit, Cody tweeted out, promoting his up coming Fight Forever Wrestling matches with WOS‘s Joe Hendry and ROH‘s Flip Gordon.
