Hi all, I’m Nate Craver and I’m here to shake things up on the WrestleTalk Roundtable for Monday Night Raw. Okay, not really. Your usual host for this article is unavailable this week, so, you’re stuck with me for the first page.
To quote Dean Ambrose from last night:
“The more things change, the more things stay the same.”
To Monday Night Raw, the entire McMahon family came out to make an announcement that truly sounded huge and what could be company defining, if true. That’s the question isn’t it. Will what was promised actually come true?
The major premise of the promo was that WWE wasn’t listening to the fans and haven’t been doing a very good job of presenting sports entertainment television. They vowed to start listening to the fans and having a more hands on approach to managing Raw and Smackdown. They were going to present new faces and stop holding down fan favorites.
So, this prompted a lot of discussion on social media and several fans letting WWE know what and who they wanted.
New superstars, you say? Is that… Undisputed? #RAW

Did Monday Night Raw deliver on the change that was promised?
We saw some changes. Lucha House Rules were abolished. The Revival won. Tyler Breeze answered an open challenge. Six NXT call-ups were announced. We also got the announced returns of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Corbin was fired as a change based on fan opinion. Here, I thought it was because he lost to Brock. And we got an hour of women’s wrestling in hour three.
Consequently, though, many felt it was more of the same. Baron Corbin appeared on the show a lot, including the same match from TLC minus Braun. Seth and Dean continued. We saw more of Ziggler, Finn, and Drew. We also saw more of Elias and Lashley, including Lashley’s glutes. Finally, my personal favorite, we had commercials during every match.
Did the rest of the show lead up to the announcement hype? Personally, I was hoping for more based on the tone of the original announcement. Let’s see what the Roundtable thought of the show…
