According to a report on ET Canada, Chris Hemsworth, who plays the role of Thor in the smash Marvel franchise, will play the role of Hulk Hogan in an upcoming Netflix biopic on the wrestling legend.
The movie, directed by Road Trip, Borat and The Hangover director Todd Phillips, will focus on Hogan’s rise to prominence in wrestling and the early years of Hulkamania.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the movie will steer well clear of some of the more controversial aspects of Hogan’s career, namely the various scandals that have plagued him over the years involving steroids, sex tapes and racism.
Hogan himself with be on board to oversee the movie as executive producer, a role that his close personal friend Eric Bischoff will also have. As will Hangover star Bradley Cooper, who at one point was slated to play Vince McMahon in the proposed Vince McMahon biopic Pandemonium, which has not yet (and never will) seen the light of day.
Who knows, perhaps Cooper could play the role of McMahon in the new Hogan flick.
There is no further information regarding casting or intended release date at this time.
