Tye Dillinger is officially through with WWE.
The rarely-seen SmackDown Live star and former NXT cult favourite asked for his release on Monday and posted a heartfelt statement on his Twitter account explaining his reasoning.
WWE remained tight-lipped publicly, with many of Dillinger’s fans fearing that he would be forced to sit out the remainder of his contract, much as Neville (PAC) was last year.
However, WWE has today confirmed that Dillinger has been released from his contract, as per the following tweet from its official account:
WWE has come to terms on the release of Ron Arneill (Tye Dillinger).https://t.co/uqIeqallQf

A statement on WWE.com reads the same, with no wishing him the best of luck in his future endeavours. Man, things are brutal in these times of war!
Dillinger becomes the second wrestler to ask for and be granted their release this year following Hideo Itami quitting the promotion for a return to NOAH a few weeks ago. The Revival and Mike and Maria Kanellis also asked for their released but were turned down. Dean Ambrose is also leaving when his contract expires in April.
So what next for Tye? Will it be AEW? ROH? Impact? Japan? The independent circuit? I guess we will all find out soon enough.
