Last night we saw the return of Roman Reigns to WWE after he was told he was in remission following successful leukaemia treatment, and plans may already be in place for a Shield reunion.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that the inclusion of Elias into the Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin team may have been a way of building a Shield plus Braun Strowman vs Baron’s Boys match at Fastlane.
Not only would this be a way of bringing Roman back into a match where they can protect him after his lengthy layoff, but it gives the card a lot of Raw stars, something it’s seriously lacking at the moment.
Now I know what you’re thinking, that Dean Ambrose is still a heel, but from what we can tell, no-one cares what he’s supposed to be anymore, and least of all Dean himself. If he is once again attacked by the quarrelsome quartet on the Fastlane go home show next week, he may well be willing to reunite the Shield one last time before he leaves WWE in April.
As it’s being reported that Roman Reigns wasn’t cleared until last week, WWE may have been forced to think on their feet a bit, and a standard 8-man tag seems like exactly the sort of thing they’d do.
