Tyler Breeze made his way back to NXT from the main roster a few weeks back, wrestling Velveteen Dream for the North American Championship at NXT Takeover: XXV.
Triple H confirmed that this was not a one-off, and Breeze is now considered a full-time member of the NXT roster.
Breeze has seemingly inspired many others to make the trip down to the black and gold brand too. At yesterday’s set of NXT TV tapings, Killian Dain made his presence known, attacking Matt Riddle and setting up a feud between the two. Dain had been wrestling on house shows for NXT, but this marks his return to TV.
Fandango also made the move back to NXT. The former Smackdown star made the save for the aforementioned Tyler Breeze after a beatdown at the hands of the Forgotten Sons. This was his first WWE appearance in over a year after being sidelined through injury.

And as if that wasn’t enough, another Smackdown superstar in Apollo Crews made his way back to the black and gold brand last night.
Crews was called up to the main roster in 2016 following just one full year in NXT. Apollo actually attacked fellow NXT-returnee Tyler Breeze in his Raw debut the night after WrestleMania 32.
Last night, Crews appeared at Full Sail to take on former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion KUSHIDA, a match which Apollo ultimately lost. It is not known if Crews’ appearance in NXT last night was a one-off, or the first of what will be a long run back down in Tampa, Florida.

This is an exciting time for NXT, with four main roster stars making their way back to Triple H’s brand. This will certainly help NXT become more of a third brand than a developmental one.
Some of the main roster stars who made their way back to NXT are featured on the mouth-watering rumoured card for NXT Takeover: Toronto.
