On this week’s Raw, New Day were brutally assaulted at the hands of Randy Orton and Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder of The Revival.
This segment seemingly confirmed that Randy Orton is now aligned with the former Raw Tag Team Champions.
Wrestling fans and critics alike were very high on the segment, with many feeling it was the most effective angle in the Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston storyline over the WWE Championship.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, many people backstage within WWE were also very happy with how the segment went down:
“There were a lot of people happy through the curtain about the Randy Orton, New Day, Revival angle on WWE Raw.”
This comes after it was reported that Vince McMahon was not present at either Raw or Smackdown this week. Kevin Dunn, Paul Heyman and Triple H were all in charge of running the show.
