Once SmackDown Live has moved to Friday nights on FOX, WWE will also be hosting a 1-hour FS1 talk show, and it looks like AEW is already having the same idea.
The Wrap is reporting that Brett Weitz, the general manager of TNT, TBS and truTV, said his company and All Elite Wrestling are “talking about” doing a studio show together.
This would be in addition to the two-hour long All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite shows set to start weekly on TNT from October 2.
“We are talking about a possible studio show as a companion [series] for Dynamite. I don’t know if you’ve met Tony Khan, but he’s not short of ideas — or passion. So there is a world where we’re thinking about ‘Where does something like that live?’ Knowing full well that within the WarnerMedia ecosystem we have B/R Live, we’ve got all these different components at our disposal.
“The more content for these fans the better, and we would love to figure out what something like that looks like,” he said.
It has already been announced that WWE will be doing an FS1 studio show, most likely hosted by Renee Young which will start on November 5, so this could be a direct response from AEW to that announcement.
The November 5 debut would, if our maths is correct, give AEW around a month to create its own studio show if it wants to beat WWE to the punch.
We will keep you updated with any further information regarding the above report.
