For the FOX debut of SmackDown this coming Friday, WWE is getting in every single big names possible and is stacking the card with big matches. One name that is missing from the list of name however is that of The Rock.
Without doubt, getting the Rock in will have been on top of WWE’s list of priorities, but given that Mr Johnson is pretty much the biggest star in the world at the moment, trying to book him is almost impossible.
The Wrestling Observer has confirmed that WWE is in ongoing talks to try and secure the People’s Champ for Friday’s show, but nothing has yet been set in stone.
“They are working on it and it’s really up to his schedule if they can pull it off. It’s not so much they want the surprise as much as it’s probably not going to be confirmed until the last minute.”
Imagine for a second that its the start of the show, the start of a new era of SmackDown on Friday nights, and the first thing you hear and see is “IF YOU SMELL, WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING!”
I genuinely have goosebumps thinking about it and I’ve spent the last hour watching compilations of the Rock returning.
John Cena has also teased an appearance, so if you’re going to the show, get ready to pop.
