Last month, former WWE Champion Randy Orton seemingly teased a move to All Elite Wrestling on social media. However, it was later rumoured that he only did this to try and get a better WWE deal.
These rumours were confirmed just a few weeks later after it was reported that Orton had agreed to a new long-term deal with WWE that will keep him with the company until 2024, at least.
On After The Bell, WWE’s official podcast, Randy explained that he was just having some fun with his social media teases. Orton said that he never actually considered leaving WWE.
Speaking to Smackdown commentator and the host of After The Bell, Corey Graves, Orton had the following to say:
“This might be upsetting for some people, but I never saw myself leaving WWE. I’m happy being a WWE Superstar”.
Orton also said that he has grown to appreciate different wrestling styles, implying he is now spending time watching matches from NJPW and AEW.
“I was just having some fun. I’m morw aware of other giys like Will Ospreay and I’m watching a little more wrestling, I’m learning to appreciate other styles a little more”.
