Earlier on this week, Seth Rollins took on Bobby Lashley and Ricochet in a triple threat match on Raw. Ricochet walked out with the win, he will now challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Super ShowDown.
Now WWE has confirmed another match for Friday Night SmackDown where the number one contendership for the SmackDown Women’s Championship will be on the line.
WWE confirmed that Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Carmella and Dana Brooke will compete in a fatal four-way match where the winner will earn a future championship match with Bayley.
On the matter, WWE had the following to say:
The WWE Universe was left wondering who would step up to Bayley after the SmackDown Women’s Champion defeated Lacey Evans at Royal Rumble. On Friday night, they’ll have their answer.
Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Carmella and Dana Brooke are set to face off in a Fatal 4-Way Match for a future championship match against Bayley. Naomi made a statement last weekend by attacking Bayley, but former champions Bliss and Carmella as well as the rising Brooke will all be vying for the title opportunity.
Naomi returned to SmackDown last week and seemingly began a feud with Bayley, so I really wouldn’t be surprised to see her pick up the win in tonight’s four-way.
There is no word on when the winner will challenge Bayley for the championship, but logic would dictate that the match will take place at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view next month.
As always, WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage of tonight’s episode of SmackDown where we are also slated to see the WWE return of Hall of Famer Goldberg.
