Florida Governor Calls For 30 Day Ban On Major Events, Including WrestleMania

It seems like there is a big of conflict in Florida right now with regards to holding major sporting events despite the Coronavirus pandemic. Earlier today, the Mayor of Tampa stated that there is no need to take “immediate action” right now with major events, like WrestleMania still weeks away.

However, WPTV is reporting that the Governor of Florida has called for all major events over the next 30 days to be cancelled/postponed. This would mean that should the local authorities take his advice, WrestleMania 36 will not go ahead as planned.

On the matter, here is what WPTV has said:

“Gov. Ron DeSantis wants to stop the spread of the coronavirus in Florida by postponing or limiting mass gatherings. The governor made that recommendation on Thursday at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.”

This does not mean that the event is cancelled. The Governor does not have the power to cancel this year’s WrestleMania. However, it is possible that Tampa Bay officials may take his advice and order for WrestleMania to be cancelled with the view of preventing the spread of Coronavirus.

Tampa Bay officials are set to meet today to decide whether or not major sporting events, like WrestleMania, can go ahead as planned. Reliable Twitter source WrestleVotes has stated that Vince McMahon has personally flown to Tampa to take part in the meeting.
