Two of the several WWE stars released earlier this week were Mike and Maria Kanellis. The decision to fire both was met with a great deal of criticism, especially considering Maria gave birth just two months ago.
In the days following her release, Maria has teased a move to NJPW, a promotion she and Mike both worked for in 2015, prior to them signing with WWE in 2017.

Maria is not the only former WWE star to tease a return to NJPW. In a cryptic video posted on Twitter yesterday, Karl Anderson seemingly hinted at a return to Japan, a country where he is very respected.
Of course, while the recently released WWE stars are technically able to wrestle for any promotion from right now, pretty much every company with the exception of WWE and AEW have stopped running shows of any capacity due to Coronavirus.
While a move to AEW is technically possible for these wrestlers, the promotion has taped all of their footage for what is believed to be two months.
While they may not be on TV or at independent shows for a number of months, you can find out the ways to support all of the recently released WWE stars by clicking here.
