When Drew McIntyre started in WWE the first time there were lockerroom leaders on Raw and SmackDown. Naturally, with different people comes different advice.
On a recent edition of Lillian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast, McIntyre discussed the advice he received from The Undertaker in 2009-2010.
Drew: “I talked to Sheamus and how he had HHH in charge on Raw and I had ‘Taker in charge on SD. Triple H would explain it to Sheamus step-by-step. Taker would just give riddles that I couldn’t figure out. Finally, when the light bulb went off, I got the lessons and understood.”

“‘Don’t play the part, be the part,’ Taker used to tell me that when I was 24 and I never understood his lessons. He used to talk in riddles all the time. These days, we talk on the same wavelength, but when I was younger… bloody hell.
I talked to Sheamus and how he had Triple H in charge on Raw and I had Taker in charge on SmackDown. Triple H would explain it to Sheamus step-by-step. Taker would just give riddles that I couldn’t figure out. Finally, when the light bulb went off, I got the lessons and understood.”
Sheamus and McIntyre both debuted in 2009 and were both given big pushes right away. They were Triple H’s handpicked next guys and by the end of 2009 Sheamus was WWE Champion and McIntyre was Intercontinental Champion.
It is interesting to see the different styles of Triple H and The Undertaker as leaders on Raw and SmackDown respectively in 2009.
