Ricardo Rodriguez might have just played Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer while working for WWE. However, fans may not be aware that Rodriguez is also a wrestler. Ricardo was actually signed to WWE in 2010 with the intention of being an in-ring talent, working several matches in FCW.
The tolls of being a wrestler on your body and mind are pretty well documented now, and Rodriguez has shared how his mind has been affected by being involved in the wrestling business and taking bumps.
Ricardo recently tweeted that people need to take concussions seriously, adding that due to the concussions he suffered throughout his career, his brain sometimes “turns on and off”:
My concussions will always live with me. I cant tell you guys enough how much i love you. My brain turns on and off. Chill.. im good.. but please research concussions more

This is obviously a rather scary thought. When you think of Ricardo Rodriguez, you do not think of him as taking any crazy bumps, so the fact that his mind has been so clearly affected by concussions in wrestling is certainly a frightening thought.
Of course, concussions in wrestling have certainly been taken more seriously in wrestling in recent years. However, as with any sport, concussions in wrestling are unavoidable and, to a certain degree, inevitable.
