The final participant in this Sunday’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match was determined in a gauntlet match on tonight’s episode of Raw.
The spot was initially filled by Apollo Crews who qualified with a win over MVP, but he was written out of the match after suffering a storyline injury in a US Title bout against Andrade last week.
The gauntlet saw Bobby Lashley dominate early on, picking up pretty quick wins over Titus O’Neil, Akira Tozawa and Shelton Benjamin.
However, Lashley then got himself disqualified in the next round against Humberto Carrillo and ref Shawn Bennett called for the bell. The ‘All Mighty’ then took out his frustrations on Carrillo, leaving him vulnerable for the next participant, his own cousin Angel Garza.

Carrillo vs Garza was the longest round to that point with Garza dominating pretty much the entire time, but Carrillo rolled him up and escaped to advance to the next round, in which he met Garza’s fellow Zelina Vega client Austin Theory.
Carrillo vs Theory was shorter but the same equation with Carrillo escaping victorious, but a returning AJ Styles, for the first time since WrestleMania, appeared as his next foe.
The ‘Phenomenal One’ was victorious in what ended up being the final round to stamp his ticket to the most unique Money in the Bank ladder match to date, making the Mexican tap with the Calf Crusher. He then continued attacking Carrillo’s leg after the match until he was forced off by a referee, and took to the mic to say that he’s gonna do anything to get the contract, even if it means throwing someone off the WWE HQ roof.
Styles joins Aleister Black, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin and Otis in the battle for the men’s briefcase. Both the ladder matches in WWE HQ were taped simultaneously which could make for some prey
