10. Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle – WrestleMania XIX
Brock Lesnar has been put in a difficult position by WWE over the last two years. They have conditioned the fans to think Lesnar hates them and hates wrestling which had led to fatigue and unhappiness with him and his performances. That is not entirely fair to him as Lesnar remains one of the best performers in the company. Here are ten of his best matches that you need to see.
The first is his WrestleMania XIX main event match with Kurt Angle. Angle may be Lesnar’s best opponent to date as their amateur wrestling styles meshed perfectly together. Angle was in a bad way at WrestleMania but they still managed to pull off a classic main event. This match is most remembered for Lesnar’s botched Shooting Star Press, which is unfortunate. It is good enough to stand the test of time and it should be looked at for more than one mistake.
9. Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker – Hell in a Cell 2015
When people think of Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker their matches in 2015 are not the first thing to come to mind. This is also unfortunate as their matches at SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell were excellent. Of the two, the Hell in a Cell match is their best match together.
This was the last great Undertaker singles match to date and boy was it great. They had a vicious fight to end their feud. Lesnar got juiced, Undertaker got brutally beaten, it was great fun. This finish was also memorable as Lesnar tore back the canvas, attempting to break the ring with Undertaker’s body. It didn’t work but it made for a cool visual.
8. Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg – WrestleMania 33
This is not a wrestling clinic. Far from it. But this match goes to show that a match does not need to go 30 minutes with tons of grappling to be great. Brock Lesnar and Goldberg’s rivalry in 2016-17 culminated at WrestleMania 33 in the ultimate trainwreck match.
In just under five minutes, they managed to have one of the most entertaining matches on the whole card. This match was just 10 suplexes, four Spears, one Jackhammer, one F5, done. That is how you do a car wreck.
