10 Most MUST-SEE Brock Lesnar Matches

7. Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena – Extreme Rules 2012

I have written about the WWE main event style a number of times in lists like these. It is a reliable style that has churned out many great matches over the years but many of them are largely interchangeable. This match was completely, 100% different. In Brock Lesnar’s return match to WWE, he tried to murder John Cena.

This match was Cena fighting for his life from the bell. There was no back and forth, this was the monster killing his prey. It was glorious. The only problem was that Cena won the match in the end. Considering Lesnar was coming off a run as the top box office draw in pay per view sports, there was not one reason to beat him in his first match back. Had Lesnar won this match, this would have been number one on this list.

6. Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles – Survivor Series 2017

Since becoming the Mayor of Suplex City, Lesnar has had his best matches with smaller guys who can sell and deal believable offense. One of the best examples of this was Lesnar’s match with AJ Styles at Survivor Series 2017.

Styles is one of the best and most reliable workers in WWE and he proved it again here. This was meant to be Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal (which would NOT have been on this list) but Styles was brought in as a bigger star and a better wrestler. Their match was excellent as Lesnar was able to throw Styles around with ease before Styles got the upper hand.

You can always tell how much Lesnar likes working with a guy by how much he sells for them and he sold his ass off for Styles here. Lesnar got the win but it appeared by the end Styles had earned his respect.

5. Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan – Survivor Series 2018

See everything I just wrote about Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles? Imagine it again with Daniel Bryan a year later. Okay that is a bit of a stretch but the match was great for many of the same reasons. This one was different in the sense that Bryan had just turned heel and his vicious new attitude was on full display.

Bryan would grab Lesnar’s arms and boot him in the face repeatedly, illustrating that the days of the Yes Movement were behind him. Lesnar was on his game once again here as he threw Bryan all over the ring. It was a tremendous effort from both men and a match you should see if you missed it.

4. Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman vs. Samoa Joe – SummerSlam 2017

What is better than a trainwreck with two people? A trainwreck with four people! Brock Lesnar continued to defend the Universal Championship in 2017 and he had one of his best matches ever at SummerSlam. He was forced to take on all challengers as Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman stood across the ring in Brooklyn.

This was a Paul Heyman creation and it was brilliant. Four large men hitting finishers and putting people through tables. What is not to love. You could go through this match move by move but it would not do it justice. This was a great match in a style that has unfortunately not worked the other times they have tried it.
