On the whole, you often see some of the most impressive moves of the week during episodes of AEW: Dynamite every week, or on AEW PPV. However, it has now emerged that an AEW star was told not to do a dangerous move while working for the promotion.
On the latest AEW Unrestricted podcast, Kris Statlander revealed that top AEW star and company Executive Vice President Kenny Omega told her not to do her Area 451 move.
On the podcast, Statlander revealed that Omega told her not to do the 450 Splash move that she has been doing on the independent scene for a while now:
“Well, I have a move that I haven’t been allowed to hit yet, as per Kenny’s request. Aubrey knows what it is. I’ll tell you, Tony, because we don’t know when I’ll be able to hit this new thing, but my good old Area 451, the 450, I can hit that. Only twice in my life have I ever over-rotated it, [and] bash my face onto the mat. Out of all the times that I’ve done it, only twice, and I’ve done it a lot. So, I’ll take it.”
There is no word on why Kenny Omega decided to not let Statlander do the move. For the latest on this, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
Statlander unfortunately won’t be doing any moves in an AEW ring for a long while as she revealed that she suffered a rather nasty knee injury and will be out of action for a while.
This comes just a few weeks after the injury of Britt Baker, meaning AEW’s women’s division is looking rather weak right now
