It was initially reported following WWE Raw earlier this week that the ‘fans’ in attendance were not permitted to wear masks by WWE higher-ups. However, it appears as if that may not have been accurated.
However, local Florida reporter Jon Alba is claiming that ‘fans’ who attended the show that he was able to speak to said that they were not prohibited from wearing masks by WWE, and did not feel pressured into not wearing them.
NEW: Multiple fans in attendance at Monday's #WWE tapings tell me they were NOT told they couldn't wear masks. Several reports in the last 24 hours have indicated they were told they couldn't wear them. WWE has released the following statement to me and @MyNews13 on the matter: pic.twitter.com/7lxSEtZyc1

WWE then released the following statement to Alba on the whole mask situation, adding that the “fans” who attended the show were friends and family of the roster:
“Fans have not been in attendance at WWE events since March 13. Yesterday, a select number of friends and family were permitted to attend WWE’s TV production. These individuals were required to participate in medical screenings prior to entering the closed set at our training facility, and were kept apart from in-ring performers and production personnel. Attendance was below 20% capacity and social distancing guidelines were adhered to with at least six feet between parties, thus face masks were not required.”
Many people have criticised WWE for allowing fans into the building given the positive COVID test. However, there is no word on when they found out about the positive result. It is plausible that they didn’t know until the taping had finished and once fans had been in the building for some time.
