WWE fans were pleasantly surprised when back at in May, Otis won the ladder match at WWE Headquarters to become Mr. Money in the Bank for the first time in his career.
Fans always had a strong affiliation to Otis, but thought that WWE would never book him as anything more than a comedy act. Thankfully, it seems like they see money in the former NXT star.
According to Ringside News, Otis was set to feud with The Fiend Bray Wyatt at some stage. The match would likely have been for the briefcase itself or for the Universal Championship if Bray beat Strowman:
“Otis’ Money In The Bank win was supposed to “set him up down the line for The Fiend.” Bray Wyatt has since been transitioned into a multi-match program with Braun Strowman.”
Tucker, Otis’ long-time tag team partner, was reportedly not set to be part of the storyline. However, WWE decided to randomly bring him back one week:
“Regarding Tucker, we were told that his entry into the situation was supposed to build toward a “big angle” down the line. A lot of things were in play at the time, but it’s unknown what has changed. Vince McMahon’s constant call for re-writes and changing his mind makes predicting anything impossible.”
There is no word on what WWE actually has planned for Otis right now. For the latest on that, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com
