Post-SummerSlam WWE Raw Viewership Revealed

Post-SummerSlam WWE Raw Viewership Revealed

The viewership has been released for this week’s episode of WWE Raw. As you might expect coming off of one of the biggest pay per views of the year, the ratings have gone up.

Bryan Alvarez reported the number on Twitter earlier today. This week’s show averaged 2.028 million viewers, up from last week’s number of 1.643 million. Here is the tweet:

This week obviously came hot off the heels of WWE’s SummerSlam pay per view. SummerSlam featured Drew McIntyre retaining the WWE Championship against Randy Orton, and Raw opened with McIntyre giving an address.

Raw also benefited from being the first episode of the show to be held in the Thunderdome. The Thunderdome debuted on SmackDown last week and was also used at SummerSlam. It has already been a huge improvement over the presentation of the Performance Center.

As far as this show goes, former NXT Champion Keith Lee debuted, facing Randy Orton in a losing effort. Their match ended in a disqualification and a rematch was booked for Payback. WWE’s next pay per view is scheduled for this coming Sunday, just one week after SummerSlam.
